A RHYTHM IN THE CAGES (CD)
The Taxpayers
2009
Album Art: Alicia Moreland, Noah Phillips, and Danielle Steal
$4 – 10 sliding scale

Sliding scale + shipping

The 2nd full length release from the DIY ramshackle punk rockers from PDX. This album was recorded over a period of 4 months in Nate Taxpayer’s living room and Noah Taxpayer’s basement. Halfway through recording the album, Rob Taxpayer got in a bike accident and broke his wrist. This album drew influence from many genres and ideas. The package was printed on recycled chipboard using vegetable ink. Comes with a poster and found art. Here are a few words some have said about the album:

“Bands like The Taxpayers restore what little faith I have in the world.”
- Rocksellout Blog

“The Taxpayers deliver hit after hit after hit, and at no point touch upon the same ground as the last song… this is an awesome CD, by a damn cool band.”
- Jersey Beat

“I don’t know what they’re putting in the beer and bocce balls in Portland, but it’s caused to sprout the finest punk-rock record I’ve heard in years…Don’t you want the world to be more like this?”
- Hello Vegetables

“This is the kind of stuff that I think is important to support, whether it’s by buying their CD, giving them a few bucks while on tour, or just by spreading the word on to others. Good Stuff”
- Maximumrocknroll

MANATESE (CD-R)
Atomic Butter Babes
2008
$4
Album Art: Zach Archer

The first album by the Atomic Butter Babes. Furiously recorded in like 20 minutes in Nate Taxpayer’s living room, Atomic Butter Babes made punk history as the punkest-as-fuck-punk-rock-band-writing-nautically-themed-sex-ballads. The album packaging was made from old floppy disks bought at a garage sale, stenciled with spray paint, and the CDs were kindly “donated”. Album comes with a poster. Here is what the critics said:

“These poppy but aggressive nautical themed songs sometimes leave you wondering if they had actually practiced them before recording.” – Pete, Maximum Rock and Roll”

Repetitive lyrics, unintelligible vocals, and a terrible recording all blend together to make this sound like something that got made in the basement by some drunken goof offs. Oh yeah, and one of the band members is apparently named Captain Penis.” – Jennifer, Razorcake

EXHILARATING NEWS (CD-R)
The Taxpayers
2007
Album art: by lots
$4

“If punk rock ever decided to start a cartoon show to convert impressionable young kids into the next era’s punk rockers, this band would fit the bill perfectly as the show’s mascots.”
- Razorcake

“(The Taxpayers)…endorse smashing the system and getting your kicks from it at the same time. It’ll take hearts and guitars to spark a revolution in this country—lord knows the other side has the cynicism and guns markets pretty much cornered. So I’m voting Taxpayers in ‘08.”
-Willamette Weekly

“…they ride a horse after getting drunk in a hideout and rob the first bank they find… suddenly I want to smile in the face of a police officer.”
- roughly translated, Borrate.este

GUERILLA WARFARE (CD)
Terrorpop
2007
$4

The album that started Useless State Records. This is an awesome Swedish band, and Zach wanted to release one of their albums. Thus, Useless State was born. This record is a collection of fervent, tight pop punk that puts a smile on everyone’s face.

“This record is the bee’s fucking knees. The bop-o-meter went through the roof from the opening notes, and with only minor derailments stayed there for the half hour or so that this record played. This is Rancid and Sweatmaster put together in the teleporter for transport and emerging on the other end as some wildly deformed incarnation of each in the guise of one beast.”
- Razorcake
