Andrew Link
Andrew Link...where to start? Both in terms of his music
and the way he lives, Andrew represents the things we all
ultimately strive for: adventurousness, curiosity, kindness and
understanding, and batshit insanity. If you ever meet him in
person or see him play, you'll understand. We first stumbled
upon Andrew in 2007 in Boise, Idaho where he was fronting the band
the Donna Vulture, and he absolutely blew us away. As the
years went by, Andrew popped up around the country in various bands
with various styles, from the americana of Hunger Moon in Missoula,
Montana, to the psychadelic surf punk of Oakland's Phantom
Vibrations, to the country punk of Florida's Buffler (like I said,
the guy gets around the country - he's like the Johnny Appleseed of
modern day DIY), but it wasn't until he started recorded songs
under his solo name that the songs really started to shine.
Poignant, with an absolute classic quality to them, I can't
say enough about them.
His upcoming release on Useless State Records, "Imprompty
Insantity" is astounding. I can't give too much away, but these are
Link's best songs to date, and after being recorded by DIY
recording legend Tuck Nelson, you know they're gonna rule.
Stay tuned, this sucker is gonna drop this fall!
