To me, Potsie is the posterchild for all things good about pop-punk and underground music in general: forget the slick corporate bullshit of bands like Greenday and Good Charlotte - this is basement rock, with the spazzy scuzz of Bay area legends Hickey, the earnestness of Jawbreaker, and the intricacy of Abi Yoyos. And with Gary Potsie on the drums, you know shit's about to get ridiculous.

Their very first EP is gonna be coming out on Useless State Records on cassette tape soon. VERY SOON. Like, we're talking DAYS people. I've been listening to the EP nonstop since I got it, it's so good. And even cooler, all proceeds from the tape is gonna benefit the Portland chapter of Books to Prisoners. I told you this band was great.

Useless State exists to promote artists within the Portland/NW area, so we rarely put out releases by those who are not. When USR releases something, a lot of planning has gone into it and is generally for someone directly within our community. However, we love to experience new creations and arts. If you’d like to send us something, please do. We enjoy building connections with others and sharing works.
