To Risk So Much For One Damn Meal

The Taxpayers
November 2010

The long awaited new album by everyone's favorite pants-less goof punks - it took nearly a year to complete, and was recorded everywhere from Minneapolis to Portland, in houses, warehouses, parks, and even in the preschool classroom where Rob Taxpayer teaches (elementary school pianos have a special sound, ya know?). It continues in the Taxpayers' tradition of...well, not following any tradition, what the Free Music Archive calls their "Beck-like license to strip two vast histories of sound down to their barest essentials, and mix them back together into super-catchy, genre-bending anthems about failed revolutions and lives well wasted". This album's got bluegrass, ragtime, swing, 80's hardcore, blues, and even a little Springsteen-esque nostalgia.

And hey, Useless State decided to keep things interesting by releasing it as a limited edition zine, complete with essays, song explanations, science experiments, and more. Get this shit while it's still available!
