HOLY ASSING SHIT YOU GUYS! A bunch of big news.

Secondly, we are approaching the Useless State Records WEEKEND SHITSPLOSION OF FUCK!

Mix It Up, Fuck It Up II & Impromptu Insanity

Next weekend is a big weekend for Useless State!  We are releasing two very awesome tapes, one compilation and one full-length album.

Friday, Sept 30 we release Mix It Up, Fuck It Up II.  This is a complilation featuring a bunch of amazing DIY bands from Portland, OR.  Potsie and Andrew Link are both on here too.  The proceeds of the tape will go towards supporting PC-PDX.com, Portland's best damn show guide.  The site is ad free (punx as fux) and supports a GIANT user base.  With upgrades to the server, costs of operating PC-PDX.com have raised considerably.

Potsie TAPE RELEASE

Well, guess fucking what?  Potsie decided to be all ROCKSTAR like and changed their tape release show date.  They think that since all of a sudden they're on a HUGE record label (ie- Useless State) they can do whatever they want and demand that we post this to our site immediately.  Well.... they're lucky I happen to think they're incredibly attractive and I think they're wonderful, nice people on top of that.  YOU OWE ME, POTSIE!!!!

So, cheggit.  Potsie's awesomely incredible debut EP will be droppin like mutha fuggin bombs this Wednesday!  Whoop whoop.  What makes this tape even cooler is that all sales go towards supporting Portland's Books To Prisoners chapter. Cooooool!!!  You should TOTALLY BUY THIS!  Siiiiiick.

But for realz, Books To Prionsers is a really amazing organization and Potsie kicks ass.

Useless State's SUMMER OF FUN!!!

Well, hello there!

Last night sure was a productive evening for the Useless State crew!  We all congregated at Damian's hot tub, conjured a few cocktails, and discussed the near future for USR.  (The discussion occured after an hour of berating a few of us for going on "reading dates" with pretty boys and girls.  They think we're nerds, we think they're jealous.) BUT BOY WE HAVE LOTS TO TELL YOU ABOUT!!!

First of all, let's talk about upcoming and NEW Useless State releases!  Hot dog, we're growing.  In August, Useless State will be releasing the debut EP from the new North Portland pop-punk sensations, Potsie.  We're pretty excited about this.  All proceeds of the tape's sales will go towards Portland's Books To Prisoners.  Their release show will be on August 10th at The Saratoga (21+) along with Bust! and The Please and Thank Yous.  Bust! are one of the best punk bands around today.  I flippin love those guys.  An all-ages release show for Potsie is also in the works and will be announced soon.

In September we will be releasing Andrew Link's NEW CASSETTE!  If you haven't heard Andrew's music before, you should definitely check him out.  Andrew has always been one of our favorite artists we've connected with while touring (in Boise, Missoula, and Oakland!).  We are thrilled to have him residing in Portland now as well as joining the Useless State family.  Andrew will be heading out on tour July 29 - August 6 along with Tony James, Invisible Trumpets, and Xtramedium (from France!).  We will have those tour destinations soon!

MIX-IT UP FUCK IT UP II is coming soon!  Holy shit.  The second installment of the hottest new-hotness mixtape series will be droppin like a hot pancake in the late weeks of the hot summer heat of August.  That shit is hot, I'm telling you.  The tape will feature a bunch of awesome Portland DIY artists and will probably rock your walkmen till it's worn out.  All sale proceeds will go towards supporting PC-PDX.com, Portland's ONLY show guide.  This will go towards server costs, domain maintenence, and whatever crazy magic hoodoo that goes into operating PC-PDX.com.  Support Portland DIY!

The gospel of Goofpunx is spreading to new lands, being welcomed with open arms and anoited with glitter.  A bunch of Goofpunx in Spokane/Cheney are thowing an amazing weekend festival July 29 - 30, Festivas Florensius! Andrew Link will be representing the Portland Goofpunx in all its grandeur (and clumsiness) at the festival and will be performing Saturday night.  This will be the most fun you will have in Cheney, WA this summer!

Useless State is also throwing a bunch of crazy-fun shows for you to shake your butts to this summer.  Check em out you freaks!

The Taxpayers - Risk Album cassettes & vinyl orders

Hey guys,

we have a good number of people who put in pre-orders in for the caseete and vinyl formats for the latest Taxpayers release and if you're one of those people, you're still waiting. WAHH WAHHHHHH....

You should have recieved a download code to grab a copy of the album while you wait - if not, please contact us and  we'll be sure to get you a code to download the album.

If you want to order the album in either of these formats, go ahead but we don't have any idea of when either of these formats will be available. You'll get a download while you wait but cannot give you a date of when you'll get the physical copy.

USR Welcomes Lee Corey Oswald!

The newest addition to Useless State, these kats bring full-fuck DIY awesomeness to the often boring world of folk-punk - and boring they're not! LCO is composed of the two dudes Lee and Corey - im' not sure if Oswald ever existed or if it's the name off Lees hair, which i'm going to count as a band member of it's own.

USR has their Demo 2010 release available - each copy is handmade in true DIY style. The boys and darling new member Taylor Shultz are currenntly wrapping up recording of a brand new cassette which is has a release show at the Sea Shanty just as great as the tunes themselves.

New Website, Finally

It's taken a while but we finally got the full version of the new website in place. We had to do a quick redo from the old Wordpress crazyness so that we could just post the buttons for ordering the Taxpayers' new album. When that album BLEW UP LIKE A CRAZY FOX IN HEAT, completing the half-assed website just got pushed back more and more..
